Even though the heat level is high there is connection between all the characters. Dixie and Josh are married and things are getting a little rough going into their first anniversary. An answer to their prayers in the form of Tucker comes to their doorstep, but not everything is at it seems. Tucker has a past with the couple, but neither knows. Tensions flare and sexual tension ignites.

    A couple married for a year are running a small ranch themselves. Surprisingly they have the energy to get hot under the sheets at night but during calving season that falls away, with a difficult calving taking the place of their anniversary dinner. (The squeamish can stop reading on page one.) Deciding that they need to hire some help creates difficulties of its own.

    A retired bull-rider comes along to answer the ad, and as it happens he's been in bed with each of the couple, separately. I really do not see a husband wanting to share his wife with any guy who comes along, not to mention the awkwardness it would create on the day-to-day workings. But that's the way the story goes. So just read it as a ménage fantasy and have fun. The lasso of the title is misplaced, I thought, as the girl briefly has her wrists tied but that's it. I also thought, having done a lot of outdoor work and horse care, that the good folks would be getting no work done if they kept putting their sex lives first as described.
